Acumamas Wellness is a small but mighty team dedicated to your health & well-being. We understand the value direct billing brings to the life of our clients who are often going through major life events like pregnancy and may not have the time and energy to submit their own claims. To make this service possible we take on significant administrative effort that comes with processing claims with various insurance providers.

We invite our clients to read through our policies and guidelines regarding direct billing and take on the responsibility of providing us the most up to date insurance information for smooth processing of direct billing claims.

Our staff needs your insurance information

To make use of our direct billing service, we kindly ask you to provide us your insurance details when filling out our patient intake form. If your insurance information changes, we request you to update it in your Jane profile before your appointment. If you need assistance pleas email us at info@acumamas.com.

This step is crucial for us to handle the direct billing claims on your behalf after your appointment. If we do not have valid insurance information for you, we will proceed by charging the treatment cost to the credit card on file. We will email you a detailed receipt with all the details required to for direct claim submission with your insurance provider.

Insurance coverage & payments

We have no control over how much of the treatment cost is covered by your insurance plan. Every health insurance plan is different, and it would be best to contact the insurance company to better understand your coverage. Any amount not covered by your insurer is always charged to your credit card. We offer flexible payment options, including debit card transactions, both virtually and in-person.

Response time for direct billing related questions

At times, we may require additional information to process the insurance claim on your behalf. In those situations, we will reach out via email and we request that you get back to us with the requested information within 24 hours. If do not hear back from you and the 24 hours deadline is passed, we will charge the cost of the treatment to your credit card on file. We will email you a detailed receipt with all the details required to for direct claim submission with your insurance provider.

Which insurance providers do we support?

We use Telus eClaims system which allows us to support a range of insurers, you can read more about eClaims system and Supported insurers here, under "Who are participating insurers?"

Notice regarding delays in claims processing

We use the Telus eClaims system for claims processing, you can learn more about it here. Please be advised that at times, delays in claim processing and issue resolution are unavoidable due to the nature of digital claims transactions and external systems of insurance providers. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
